Entry Eligibility
- All group members must have badge memberships to Anime Boston 2026.
- Cosplayers must be 18+ years old to apply. Exceptions may apply.
- Costumes must follow our source material requirements
- Costumes must follow all convention cosplay, attire and prop policies
Performance Rules
- Performances and on-stage appearances must follow our performance guidelines
- Rules must be followed at all times. Claiming "This is something my character would do" or "this would be really cool" to violate a rule is grounds for dismissal from the event.
How to Apply
- Assemble your group
- Group leaders must be 18+ at the time of application
- Some events may permit group members that are 13-17 years old. Contact the Cosplay Events Manager for approval.
- Prepare your application materials
- Character and series names
- Introduction to be read by the emcee - limited to 50 words or less
- Full length photo of each group member in costume
- A single group photo is acceptable provided each group member's costume can be clearly seen.
- Any additional materials required for the event (details below).
- Legal names of each person in group (visible only to staff)
- Email address and cell phone number of the group leader
- When applications open, click the link for an event to apply.
- Only ONE application per group from the group leader. Other group members do not need to submit separately.
Selection Process
Anime Boston staff review all applications before selecting accepted and waitlisted groups.
All groups will be informed of their status: accepted, waitlisted, or declined.
The waitlist is not ordered. If an accepted group drops, the coordinator will pull a group from the waitlist based on what roles they need filled.
Waitlisted participants are encouraged to check in at the convention and arrive at the event on time in case of last-minute drops.

Lip Sync Battle Application Requirements
- Rating: Teen
- Age Limit: 18+, 13-17 allowed with approval
- Group size: 1-2
- Song list: Titles of (4) songs that are to be performed
- Groups are responsible for providing their own audio cuts
- Audio cuts must be 60-90 seconds long
- Audio cuts must be radio clean (no swears)
- Audio cuts are due by February 27, 2026.
- Backup Song: Titles of (1) backup song in case another group submits the same songs

Big Fat Quiz Show Application Requirements
- Rating: Teen
- Age Limit: 18+
- Group size: 1-2
- Experience: Provide a brief summary of improvisation or stage performance experience
- Special Interest: Questions about topics of interest to the participant that may be used in the event (e.g. ‘What is your favorite anime'?)
